Anti Static gloves are intended to provide static dissipation by taking the ‘charge’ and allowing it to run through the fine metal fibers woven in to the material. The human body is very conductive because of our high water content so the most practical way to prevent damage to electronics is to provide a method to discharge and that is what the gloves are about.

In order to keep them effective, realize that the fibers need to stay intact. So be aware of that when putting on and taking them off so you don’t break the metal fibers. They are durable, but not intended to be used forever.  We suggest that if you handle equipment or other sensitive items that you want to keep impeccably clean, you must wear the gloves at all times. When they become visibly dirty or you know you contaminated them, you can wash them and cool air dry immediately. The static dissipation has been reported effective for up to 5 washings. Keep an extra pair in your equipment drawer
